Mr & MRS Smith the Old Rectory

From the very start of our stay the staff made this one of the best hotels we have stayed at. It's worth everyone of it's 5 stars. Lovely comfy rooms and the smell of open fires just makes this the most comfortable of hotels. The food is exceptional and superb value. All of the staff were lovely but a special thanks to the amazing Marvin. Well done team and keep up the brilliant work.

Lovely boutique hotel This was part of trip where we had a longer stay of 3 nights we really enjoyed it here the hotel had a lot of character, rooms were nice not huge but had all that you needed. It was a good location for very good nearby restaurants, and a nice but busy beach within walking distance, also boat trips within walking distance. The food was amazing very large portions. Anything you need the staff will help with bookings for boat trips and restaurants. Very enjoyable stay.

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay 3 nights in The Old Rectory. It is a really beautiful historic hotel with lots of interesting parts to it. Our room was upstairs with a view looking over the garden and pool. There is no lift but the hotel staff carried the suitcases up and down. The room was very well equipped, clean and comfortable and we loved the open plan idea. Breakfast was good and they will provide a lot more than what appears on the menu, if you ask. We loved the open fire at night where we could sit and enjoy drinks from the bar and chat to some of the other guests.

We enjoyed a lovely 3 nights at The Old Rectory. Fantastic location close to the stunning Plettenberg Bay beaches & close to lots of good restaurants and the town. The hotel is stunning - a tranquil oasis! Very relaxing & chilled atmosphere. Lovely bar and public areas. Staff very professional and attentive - nothing too much trouble. Our room (Luxury Suite) was fabulous - spacious, very comfortable with its own private outside garden / seating area. We enjoyed an excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant one evening (Restaurant 1777). Limited breakfast menu was the only possible downside altho coffee was first class! In summary, a fantastic, memorable experience & highly recommended.
